Commission me! [link]



So Joey brought something to my attention the other day. I have a tendency to say things without thinking. Little canned responses that my brain conjures up, latches on to, and uses when I have nothing intelligent to say otherwise. This includes phrases like "Damn yeah" and "Like ya Do." I actually say "Like ya do" in almost every conversation I have. I don't know why, it doesn't even really mean anything. Example:

Other person: "So the other day, there was nothing on TV so I murdered my kids..."
Me, nodding: "Like ya do."

Also, I overuse the phrase "That's how I roll." A lot. Like, all the time.

But what Joey drew my attention to was the fact that I say "Hells to the Yeah." completely unconsciously all the freaking time. He actually spent a few hours pointing it out. I had no idea! LOL I mean, I am aware that I say this, but I don't think about it, or really purposely interject it.

Anyway, he was pointing out the fact that whenever I say this in response to what he's saying, he simultaneously thinks it's hilarious, but also has the knee-jerk reaction to punch me. Which is boyfriend talk for "when you say that, I want to punch you." I'm a smart cookie, I've been around the block a few times, I know things.

So anyway, what is your opinion on this? Would YOU punch me?
